The Daunting Challenges the Right Faces When It Comes to Winning

Is American headed to the same fate as Rome? It sure looks like it.

Main Street America and its allies on the Right face two massive challenges when it comes to winning. Winning isn’t just a singular event as in winning elections; rather, it involves a second, more difficult challenge that comes only after successfully defeating the Left in elections. On both fronts, the Left is aided enormously by its allies in media, entertainment, corporate America, and academia. Let me give you two concrete examples of what I mean.

First, in the Vice Presidential debate on Tuesday night, the media again puts its heavy hands on the scale to hurt Republican J.D. Vance and help Democrat Tim Walz. Contrary to the segment that has garnered all of the post-debate news, I think the biased “moderators” made it clear what they were going to do in the segment BEFORE Vance fact-checked their attempted fact-check on him. Specifically, about 17:30 into the debate, Norah O’Donnell bizarrely made a statement at the close of the exchanges between Vance and Walz that was her first attempted “fact-check.” The moment she did it, I nearly jumped out of my skin hoping Vance would have immediately said, “What the hell was that? Are you going to inject your opinions into this debate to once again help the Left, or are you going to honor the debate rules we agreed to that you would keep your traps shut when it came to opinions and fact-checks?” Here is the clip I’m referring to:

I suspect Vance immediately noted what she’d done, so prepared himself to do exactly what he did a segment later when he fact-checked the “moderators” on their attempted fact-check on him.

Overall, I thought Vance did a spectacular job during the debate. Beyond failing to fact-check Walz on the post-abortion babies left to die in Minnesota during his tenure, his only foot fault occurred on the loaded and biased 1/6-Trump election denial question. I wish Vance would have said this:

Let’s talk about the 1/6 riot and Donald Trump’s belief that the 2020 election was rigged. First, though grossly underreported by the media, in both 2004 and 2016 when Republicans won the presidential elections, the Democrats tried to do exactly what President Trump asked be done which was to sit alternate electors based on suspected election fraud. Hillary Clinton to this day continues to claim that Trump did not legitimately win the 2016 election. As to the 2020 election, as detailed by Mollie Hemingway in her book, “Rigged," and Miranda Devine in her book, "Laptop from Hell,’ the 2020 election was not conducted in a fair and impartial manner. From the unprecedented change in voting process that failed to adhere to statutory requirement (which courts didn’t substantively adjudicate or they judicially shrugged as the horse had left the barn) to the suppression of Hunter Biden’s laptop that the FBI knew was real months before it was written about by the New York Post (which post-election polls showed would have flipped the election to Trump); from the use of “non-profit” Zuck Bucks to help the Left get out its votes to the continued in-kind contributions the media makes to Democrats when they give them 90% positive news coverage as they give Republicans 90% negative news coverage, the 2020 election was stacked against President Trump, yet he still nearly won the final Electoral College.

Next, as was reported earlier this week, General Mark Milley admitted that President Trump authorized him to deploy troops on 1/6 to ensure the safety and security of the Capitol, which Milley failed to do. This action came on top of his approval to Speaker Nancy Pelosi and D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser to deploy the national guard to secure the Capitol on that day, which they failed to do. Such actions are specifically why President Trump expressly urged those attending his speech on the Ellipse to “peacefully and patriotically” protest at the Capitol afterwards. He also repeatedly sent tweets out during the riots telling his supporters to stop engaging in any violence, which the media memory holes when it discusses the 1/6 riot.

Lastly, it is vital the 1/6 riot be put in the proper context of our times. Remember, it was left-wing rioters who stormed Layfayette Square and tried to torch the White House forcing President Trump and his family to be secured in a bunker, as Secret Service agents and other law enforcement officers were attacked and injured. it was a left-wing nutjob who was inflamed by rhetoric from Democrats and the media that resulted in him trying to kill a group of Republican congressman in 2017, with the near-death of Congressmen Steve Scalise. It was Tim Walz who allowed his own cities to burn during the left-wing George Floyd riots, which resulted in the deaths of Americans, injuries to over 1,000 law enforcement personnel, and the destruction of both government and private property far in excess of what occurred on 1/6, with Kamala Harris urging people to fund the legal defenses of those who committed crimes during those riots. We’ve also now had one attempt and another plot to kill conservative Supreme Court Justices by left-wingers inspired by Democrat Senate President Chuck Schumer’s explicit threat to the Supreme Court. In the last two months, two other men tried to assassinate President Trump due to the extreme rhetoric from Democrats and the media that President Trump is an existential threat to America who must be stopped. Surrounding all of this left-wing violence are the countless hoaxes committed against President Trump from the Russia collusion hoax to the Charlottesville lie, as well as a steady drumbeat of Democrats calling Trump supporters deplorable, scum, nazis, and other terms of derision and the coordinated suppression and censorship of those of us on the Right in favor of the Left. So, while the 1/6 riot was a terrible event that I strongly and unequivocally deplore, it was a singular event that lasted a few hours compared to the years worth of physical and verbal onslaught against the Right from the Left and its media sycophants that has literally resulted in the near assassination of President Trump, Congressman Steve Scalise, and Justice Brett Kavanaugh; the denigration of half of America as second-class citizens deserving of Hillary Clinton's reeducation camps; and the erosion of our core 1st Amendment right to free speech.

America faces an existential crisis because of the Left's and the media’s totalitarian efforts, not a bunch of out-of-control wannabe warriors on 1/6.

Had Vance given an answer like that, he would have won the election for Republicans. The Right must stop allowing the Left and the media to frame the 1/6 riot outside of the broader context in which it occurred. A man can only take so many beatings before he realizes he must fight back if he is to survive.

The second challenge the Right faces if it can win elections is the leviathan it must confront when governing. The Left has succeeded beyond its wildest dreams of creating a level of dependency on government that is simply stunning. It started with the creation of Social Security and Medicare, grew with the launch of Medicaid and the welfare state, and reached its zenith — or so we thought — with the expansion of Medicaid under Obamacare and explosion of the child tax credit. The entitlement state turned America from a country with few dependent upon government benefits to a country with most dependent on government. As the Wall Street Journal graphic below shows, America went from a country in 1970 that had few areas dependent on government to a land of dependency by 2022. Don’t think for a moment the Left would win many elections if it hadn’t succeeded at making sure a growing number of voters were dependent on keeping them in power to preserve their “bread and circuses.” 

More recently, the Biden-Harris Administration’s open border policies aimed at bringing as many illegal immigrants into America as possible is the latest iteration of this voter-dependency model. It is their hope that the 10+ million illegal immigrants they brought in who are getting benefits far in excess of what many Americans get and well beyond what they got back in their home countries will show loyalty to the Left once those illegal immigrants figure out how to vote illegally or become Americans via amnesty or marriage. It isn’t coincidental that the Biden-Harris Administration is flying and bussing these illegal immigrants to battleground states and blue states that have hemorrhaged citizens since the pandemic, which will result in the loss of U.S. House members and Electoral Votes in the coming decades if those states’ population losses aren’t replaced.

So, should Republicans win elections, they then must govern a country going bankrupt due to the entitlements given to an enormous group of Americans and non-Americans. Should they try to cut those entitlements or curb eligibility, they will face a backlash by those voters in the next election, so do nothing. As a result, America continues its slow descent into hyperinflation caused by the increasing need to print money to fund government entitlements, as our defense capabilities grow weaker and weaker in the face of growing global threats. Is American headed to the same fate as Rome? It sure looks like it.

P.S. If it wasn’t clear before the Vice Presidential Debate, it certainly is clear now. Walz, like Harris, is wholly unprepared to serve as vice president (or president). Both of them have gained positions far in excess of what their intellectual and substantive capabilities warrant. Just like Biden who lost again and again in his presidential runs, Harris and Walz are only in the catbird's seat due to the Left’s anti-democratic actions to push Biden to stop Bernie Sanders in 2020 and Biden’s soul-selling pledge to pick a black woman as his running mate in exchange for getting him across the finish line. Apparently Walz was picked because Harris didn’t want someone smarter than her to make her look bad. Unfortunately, the polarity of our country driven by the Left’s voter-dependency model and media bias making Trump the anti-Christ just may result in them winning. Anyone who thinks America and the world will be better off over the next four years with Harris and Walz in charge has been catatonic or in extreme denial over the last four years. Can you imagine those two "knuckleheads" in the White House Situation Room making life or death decisions for America?
