So Jim Tressel for Ohio Governor Begins…and Vivek Ramaswamy’s Own Plans Take a Hit
I'll be talking about this big development tomorrow when I fill in for Bruce Hooley on 98.9 THE ANSWER (as I did today--details and links to today's show are below).
I will be writing more about this massive political development later, so let me just say this: if you ever believed the Republican Establishment wasn’t enormously powerful and strategic, you need to ditch that notion ASAP. Mike DeWine appointing Jim Tressel to be his Lieutenant Governor for the next two years is a dinosaur-killing astroid flaming across the sky that Tressel will run for governor in 2026 to both preserve the Establishment’s power and to stop Vivek Ramaswamy from becoming governor. Tressel’s name ID crushes Ramaswamy’s name ID and his tenure as The Ohio State Buckeye’s football coach who beat Michigan senseless AND won a national championship means he won’t need hardly any money to still outpace Ramaswamy no matter how much Ramaswamy spends. And, I don’t foresee J.D. Vance going against the OSU coach who ran the program during Vance’s time at OSU. Donald Trump also will stay clear of this primary matchup. Thus, it will be OSU god Tressel against outsider Ramaswamy.
For those interested, I’ll be filling in for Bruce Hooley tomorrow from 11:00am to 1:00pm on 98.9 THE ANSWER where I will talk at length about this development and my thoughts on it. Tune in if you can at this link. I filled in for Hooley today, so hit the links below to listen to what I covered:

Below is the chart I mentioned on air today showing the money sent by the federal government to media organizations by quarter, which shows the massive increase during the Biden Administration years.

Jim Tressel resigned from Ohio State in May 2011 amid an NCAA investigation into violations involving players receiving improper benefits from a local tattoo parlor. His resignation followed a series of suspensions and fines related to the scandal, which ultimately tarnished the reputation of the football program.
I may be naive but I am not a fan of OH State anything. I am an Ohio native and a gramma to three amazing grandchildren. I like Vivek in this race. I am curious as to the "hit" that you mentioned.
