Revitalizing the Tenth Amendment Is the Only Way to Revitalize America.

Getting Power Out of DC And Letting States Truly Compete on Policy Must Be a Top Goal for the Right.

What a great week—from Mercer County to Franklin County, from Crawford County to the State Capital, with speeches in Washington County, Mahoning County, and Franklin County this week!! With each speech, our momentum and support grows. See the article below from The Bryan Times about my campaign.

The video clip comes from my remarks to the Convention of the States activists last Wednesday at the State Capital. I truly believe we must get as much power out of Washington, D.C., as we can so that states can truly compete on a wide variety of policies. Then, the people can vote with their feet by fleeing badly managed states and flocking to the states pursuing freedom, prosperity, and common sense. We saw some of this competition during the pandemic when locked-down states like New York, California, and, yes, Ohio lost residents to places like Florida, Tennessee, and Texas.

I don’t know about you, but I always scratch my head when the Left and media try to label those of us on the Right as fascists. Last time I checked, fascists—like their totalitarian socialists and communists soulmates—want centralized power controlled by elite leaders. I actually don’t know anyone on the Right pushing for MORE power in D.C.; rather, almost to a person we are all fighting to DECENTRALIZE power outside of D.C. to give governors—whether Democrat or Republican—more power to run their states. The Left doesn’t like federalism because they know Democrat governors will adopt progressive, left-wing policies that will cause residents to flee. That is why they want one-size-fits-all policies coming out of D.C. so Republican governors can’t adopt common sense policies that make their states more attractive to Americans. The Left wants all boats to sink together rather than let competition allow each boat to rise as much as that boat’s captain wants it to rise.

As I say, if we want to revitalize America, we can only do so by revitalizing the Tenth Amendment. As a long-time advocate on competitive federalism, I plan to make Ohio the national voice on this critical issue by putting my hand up to D.C., instead of putting it out, as too many “leaders” do today. See the latest state ranking below from the American Legislative Exchange Council by Jonathan Williams and Art Laffer. Ohio remains in the bottom half…again.

If you missed it, listen to my interview from Thursday on The Bruce Hooley Show where I answered the question: is Ohio better off today? I also talked about how media bias works beyond just how the media cover a story.

If you are in central Ohio, please come to the Dublin Republican Club on Thursday at 7:00pm at the Dublin Rec Center to hear me speak. It should be a great event!
