Robert Kennedy’s Endorsement of Donald Trump Is Bigger Than You Think
Don’t be shocked if more historic moments occur in the last seventy-one days.
There is history. Then there is HISTORY. What happened on Friday when Robert Kennedy, Jr., suspended his campaign, removed his name from the ballot in ten battleground states, and unequivocally endorsed Donald Trump for President was the equivalent of an 8.0 Richter scale earthquake. Yes, the fact that the namesake son of Robert Kennedy, Sr., nephew of President John Kennedy, and the most well-known living Kennedy got behind Trump is big. Yes, the fact that Kennedy spent most of his life as a card-carrying, revered Democrat bucked his party in favor of Trump is huge. Yes, the fact that Kennedy acted just hours after Kamala Harris accepted the Democrat nomination for president thereby stealing virtually all of the thunder coming out of the Democrat National Convention is gigantic.
But, those facts aren't what make Kennedy’s endorsement of Trump bigger than you think in an HISTORIC sense.
There are three additional factors that far outweigh the factors above. First, the fact that Kennedy made his move as he held 5% in the Real Clear Politics average in national polls puts this event in a different category. No third party candidate for president with a meaningful percentage of support has ever dropped out and endorsed an opponent in modern history. And certainly not within seventy days of the election (sooner if you count early voting, which you should). The Democrats are trying to marginalize Kennedy’s endorsement, but, in a race in which the lead is within the margin of error, a majority of Kennedy’s supporters will shift to Trump. Harris already needed to reach roughly an 8% lead in national polls according to history to secure the 270 Electoral Votes needed to win. My guess is her current lead will be the largest she will ever reach and will begin to decline in the coming days and weeks.
According to a Confidential Memorandum by Trump pollster Tony Fabrizio, Kennedy’s endorsement nets Trump from a low of an additional 2% in Michigan to a high of 50% in Nevada. If Fabrizio’s figures hold, Trump most definitely will win Arizona, Georgia, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. The only state that remains uncertain is Michigan. Fortunately for Trump, if he wins the six states other than Michigan, he wins the election—unless the Democrats figure out a way to cheat by again altering voting methods like in 2020, flooding the system with illegal immigrant votes, or some heretofore unknown scheme.
That is why the second aspect of Kennedy’s endorsement matters. It is HOW he endorsed Trump. By spending time carefully and methodically citing example-after-example of what the Democrats did by rigging the intraparty rules and using lawfare to stop him from first running as a Democrat then to stop him from get on the ballots in the states as an independent, Kennedy gave voters an unflattering portrait of just how nefarious the Democrats are. On Friday, Kennedy stated:
Lacking confidence that its candidate could win a fair election at the voting booth, the DNC waged continual legal warfare against both President Trump and myself. Each time that our volunteers turned in those towering boxes of the signatures needed to get on the ballot the DNC dragged us into court, state after state, attempting to erase their work, and to subvert the will of the voters who had signed those petitions. It deployed DNC-aligned judges to throw me and other candidates off the ballot and to throw President Trump in jail. It ran a sham primary that was rigged to prevent any serious challenge to President Biden. Then, when a predictably awful debate performance precipitated a palace coup against President Biden, the same shadowy DNC operatives appointed his successor, also without an election. They installed a candidate who was so unpopular with voters that she dropped out in 2020 without winning a single delegate.
Kennedy’s case verifies for voters that what Trump has been saying all along about the Democrats is fundamentally true. They lie, cheat, and steal to win. Within hours of Kennedy’s testimony eviscerating the Democrats, another presidential candidate, Green Party candidate Dr. Jill Stein, talked about how the Democrats are using lawfare against her to keep her off the presidential ballot. One day later, Democrats celebrated their victory of keeping black progressive professor Cornell West off the Pennsylvania presidential ballot. Both Kennedy and Stein noted that Republicans have done nothing to keep them off the ballot or impede other candidates from qualifying.
Kennedy’s indictment of the Democrats is, frankly, deadly. Why? Because the Democrats have spent years lecturing Americans that Trump is a threat to Democracy and that only voting for Biden and Harris will save Democracy. Kennedy exposed that claim as a baldfaced lie—it is the Democrats who are doing everything they can to limit the number of candidates who voters can support, including removing Trump from the ballot in at least ten states. It is Democrats who are opposing laws and legislation to require voter identification to vote so that illegal immigrants who have managed to register to vote will be able to vote (illegally). Indirectly, Kennedy’s screed against the Democrats lends support to Trump’s claims about Democrats trying to throw him in jail via rigged lawfare cases against him.
As I said before Kennedy’s announcement, Trump should deploy Kennedy to the seven battleground states above and New Hampshire from now until Election Day where he can tell as many voters as he can about the Democrat's assault on Democracy. If he does, he will not only ensure that the percentages noted above in Fabrizio’s memorandum support Trump, but that even more voters get behind Trump. I simply cannot fathom how Harris can recover from Kennedy's endorsement of Trump. Functionally, the Trump campaign now has both Vance and Kennedy, as well as Nicole Shanahan, to serve as surrogates in battleground states. Harris only has Tim Walz whose credibility diminishes each day as new lies he has told are discovered. When Trump debates Harris on September 10th, he can parry many Harris attacks about Trump being a threat to Democracy or being extreme or being anti-whatever by citing Kennedy’s support.
Finally, the third aspect of Kennedy’s endorsement was his takedown of the media, which solidified the fact that it truly is in the tank for Democrats. Kennedy noted that, unlike 1992 presidential candidate Ross Perot who secured dozens of Sunday news show interviews and whose candidacy resulted in Republican George H.W. Bush losing the election to Democrat Bill Clinton, the media blocked Kennedy from Sunday news shows almost entirely (he got two interviews over sixteen months). As Kennedy pointedly noted about Harris’s “surge":
[T]he DNC and its media organs engineered a surge of popularity for Vice President Harris based on nothing. No policies, no interviews, no debates, only smoke and mirrors and balloons in a highly-produced circus.
Think about that statement. Harris, who was so unpopular that she dropped out of the presidential race in 2020 without winning a single vote AND who has a 92% quit rate among those who have worked for her AND who had a LOWER popularity rating than Biden, somehow became enormously popular despite issuing no policies (other than thugging Trump’s "no tax on tips" policy), doing no interviews with ANY media in any format, and winning no debates. That magical spinning straw into gold doesn’t happen without Rumpelstiltskin, which in Harris’s case is the co-conspirator media. Watch ANY J.D. Vance clip from his time on the Sunday news shows and you will see the biased media in action. It is repulsive how hard they work to help the Left, which is why I’ve proposed a Federal Election Commission body that forces the media and Democrats to acknowledge the massive in-kind contributions the media make to Democrat campaigns annually.
If the media wasn’t biased, you’d see the three lines in the above chart running much closer to one another. Instead, the Democrats love the media, as Independents and Republicans dislike the media. Conversely, if the media favored Republicans, you’d likely see a reverse image of the above chart, with Democrats disfavoring the media as Independents and Republicans viewed the media favorably. The facts don’t lie. The media does.
The 2024 presidential election already has seen the incumbent president withdraw from the race, an assassination attempt on his opponent, and now a major endorsement by a fellow candidate. My dear readers, things don’t get more historic! Don’t be shocked if more historic moments occur in the last seventy-one days.
Democrats generally don’t care whether the party lies cheats and steals. I am delighted that RFK outed them, but people with the ability to think critically already knew what the democrats do. Democrat voters either know and don’t care, or they deny it is happening. They are generally not operating at an adult level of intelligence.
RFK gave one heck of a speech! One of the best, most impactful political speeches I’ve heard in my lifetime.
