Two Unrelated Random Questions: (1) Does Privacy Still Exist? (2) Should Adultery Be Relevant in Child Custody Cases?
On the first question, it does, but it is shrinking rapidly. On the second question, without a doubt.

Last Friday, I got a random voicemail from a very specific service provider about my request for service. I ignored it as spam. I got another voicemail from the company on Monday. I again ignored it. An hour later, my lovely lady friend got a voicemail from the same provider making the same claim. Both of us getting the same call didn’t make sense, so I looked up the company on the internet. It looked legitimate. I then called to find out how it got our names and numbers. You can watch the rest of the story in the video below, as it gets worse.
Next, with the news of the Ohio State President’s affair on his wife, I wanted to raise an issue for your reaction. In Ohio, adultery is irrelevant in divorces. I’m not opposed to that being that case…though one has to wonder if it was still a felony would it happen so often. I am, however, against it being irrelevant in child custody cases. Why? Per Ohio law, child custody is driven by what is in the best interest of the child/children (Ohio Revised Code section 3109.04). Arguably, having an affair on your family knowing the potential destruction it could cause to your kid(s) is prima facie evidence that the adulterous parent is NOT doing what is in the best interest of his children. It shows reckless selfishness in which the kid’s best interests are thrown aside, does it not? Thus, why shouldn’t such conduct be allowed as evidence in the child custody portion of divorce cases?
