Is Calling Balls and Strikes Really That Hard for Conservatives and Their Media Allies?
I ask you: where are all of the groups who constantly ask you for money? What are they doing to make Ohio better?
****Ladies and gentlemen, I am trying very hard to make it as easy as possible for you to get full access to this straight-shooting column. There are now three ways: The first way is just buy a subscription for $80.00. The second way is to donate at least $25.00 to Opportunity Ohio at this link, as Kelley did this week. The last way is to buy a copy of my new experimental book, The Architect Rises, on Amazon for $14.37 and send me the Amazon receipt at mattalanmayer@gmail.com, as Devon did this week. If you do the second or third way, I will comp your subscription to this column for one year. I can’t make it any easier, folks. I see via the analytics how many of you without full access review what you can see. Take the next step by subscribing, donating, or reading today, so you can watch the video below and read my next column, which will be the speech I think Democrat Amy Acton should give if she wants to be Ohio’s next governor.****
Another interview. Another set of softball questions. Whether it is with Ohio Republican gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramamswamy or Vice President J.D. Vance, conservative media personalities just can’t seem to move beyond softball questions. Same goes for national conservatives sitting in their ivory towers in Washington, D.C. They are really good at pointing out Blue states deficiencies, but blind as bats when it comes to noting the Red state—Ohio—perpetually a notch below or above those failing Blue states.
Why does their collective hackery matter, you ask?
Simple. By giving Republican elected officials in failing Red states like Ohio a pass, as they do, they ensure nothing will change. I can shout from the mountain tops all day, every day about Ohio’s weaknesses, but I am a very small voice in a very large country. Our elected officials can ignore me and keep evading taking the tough measures needed to get Ohio thriving. Imagine if when Fox News Kayleigh McEnany interviewed Ramaswamy she asked him why so much in Ohio needed fixing when Republicans have been in control for fifteen straight years, with supermajorities in the Ohio General Assembly. Or when he blamed Acton for Ohio’s Medicaid scandal she asked him didn’t Acton work for Republican Mike DeWine and only for fifteen months so surely couldn’t have been the issue? Or if when she interviewed Vance she asked him why Luke Rosiac found so much fleecing/fraud in Ohio if Republicans had put in place measures to prevent such acts regardless of how cooperative they are being now that the proverbial horse has left the barn?
Or imagine how our elected officials would react if when the Unleash Prosperity issued the chart above showing Ohio as THE WORST RED STATE they called out Ohio’s leaders for failing to take the steps necessary to thrive. Or if Steve Moore didn’t shill for Donald Trump over a pathetic jobs report, but instead called him out for focusing too much on foreign policy and not enough on the kitchen table issues of Main Street.
I ask you: where are all of the groups who constantly ask you for money? What are they doing to make Ohio better? Watch the video below as I talk about these issues and my thoughts on Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost’s premature departure.
