If We Gauge Ohio’s Health By How People Vote With Their Feet, Ohio Is Sick
If Vivek Ramaswamy was smart, he’d spend more time criticizing DeWine et al and articulate why his brand of Republican leadership will be different and better for Ohioans. More of the same won't work.
Do you believe, as I do, that people vote with their feet? We on the Right love to point at California, Illinois, and New York as examples of deep Blue progressive states in which people are fleeing. Conversely, we love to point to Florida, South Carolina, and Texas as examples of deep Red conservative states in which people are flocking. I’ve been alone for years in pointing out that Ohioans are fleeing to greener pastures, with few people flocking here. Whether it is the lost population since the pandemic or the loss of 700,000 Ohioans ages 10-54 who fled from 2000 to 2020 or the fact that a majority of Ohio counties have lost population since 2000 or that billions in adjusted gross income has left Ohio, I’ve tried for years to flash a red warning sign that all was not well.
